This training will last at least 2 hours.
Many facilities require this training be completed prior to performing any task that may expose the employee to infectious material.
Example of topics in
• Participants will understand how infectious agents are spread from person to person (chain of infection)
• Participants will understand how standard precautions prevent the transmission of infectious agents
• Participants will know how to use standard precautions to break the chain of infection
This training will last at least 3 hours.
Example of topics include:
• Understand the nature of fire
• Recognize fire hazards and ways to prevent fires
• Learn about early warning systems
• Understand the use of fire extinguishers
• Focus on the evacuation needs of residents
• Follow the provider emergency and disaster plan
• Respond well to an emergency
This training will last at least 4 hours.
Example of topics include:
• Know your role as an employee in an emergency
• Be able to provide basic first aid in emergencies until help arrives
• Understand how to and be able to alleviate choking
• Identify different types of emergencies and how to respond
• Learn basic prevention methods to avoid emergency situations
This training will last at least 14 hours and must be taught over at least two days with one of the days being mandatory in-person.
This training covers a wide range of topics, all designed to provide the information and skills necessary to properly administer medications to those in your care.

• Resident Rights
• Policies and Procedures
• Delegated Procedures
• Medication Management
• Medical Terms and Abbreviations
